| You’re in High School, and you meet the guy of your dreams (cute, owns a car, and on the football team). After months of hoping, he finally asks you out. What do you say? Well, before you say yes, ask yourself these questions. Why do I want to date him? Is he a Christian? If so, does he show the fruit of a strong Christian? Am I going to marry him? I will give you some verses and advise on each of these points, and then you can decide. Why do I want to date him? Many teens date to be popular or because of peer pressure. If you don’t date, you’re not cool. If this is why you date, let me ask you something. What kind of friends require something of you (like dating or the clothes you wear), so you can hang out with them? Isn’t friendship supposed to be free? * If you find yourself in this position, I would strongly suggest finding a different group of friends. Proverbs 17:17 says a friend loves at all times. Did you see that, all times? It’s not just some times or when they’re nice, not even most of the time, but all of the time. So even if people aren’t that kind of friend to you, be that kind of friend to others and right back to them.** _________________________________________ *A true friendship does cost you time, love, and effort. **Friends are not perfect, so don’t expect perfection.
